From 15 silos to one unified CRM — NORTH grows cross-sales to DKK 88 million and is acquired by Howden

NORTH was Denmark's largest independent financial advisory firm with insurance, pension, financing and mortgage advisory under one roof. RiseB2B helped them consolidate 15 companies into one coherent CRM system — and the result was a quadrupling of cross-sales in under a year. In December 2023, NORTH was acquired by the insurance group Howden and is today Howden Denmark.

Where was NORTH, when we started?

NORTH is Denmark's largest independent financial advisory firm, offering insurance, pension, financing and mortgage advisory all under one roof. Through an active acquisition strategy, NORTH grew to encompass at least 15 independent companies — and with them came 15 different IT systems, workflows and data structures.

The absence of central oversight was a serious drag on growth. Each company operated in its own silo, and it was near impossible to create coherence in client advisory, identify cross-sales opportunities or measure performance across the organisation. NORTH needed a system agile enough to suit a diverse workforce — and robust enough to handle the complexity of separating the broker and agency businesses.

The challenge was not merely technical. It required an organisational transformation that would bind 15 companies and 250 employees together into one shared commercial foundation.

Where is NORTH now?

RiseB2B implemented a tailored CRM and Marketing Automation solution in HubSpot — designed to navigate the complexity of NORTH's structure while giving the organisation a real-time overview of customers, pipeline and performance across all companies.

A central part of the solution was building a clear data structure that separates the broker and agency businesses, and gives leadership live data without having to pull information from multiple Excel sheets. On top of this, RiseB2B delivered a complete training programme in HubSpot best practices and managed the change management process, ensuring a smooth transition for all 250 employees.

Today, NORTH's entire organisation works in one shared system. Cross-sales opportunities are identified automatically, and leadership can track performance in real time — without administrative bottlenecks.

What have the results been?

The implementation went live within two months and delivered immediately measurable results. Cross-sales have since grown from DKK 5 million to DKK 88 million today — direct proof that a shared CRM foundation unlocks the commercial potential hidden within NORTH's broad product portfolio.

Beyond the financial results, HubSpot has made NORTH more agile: from idea to execution the process is now significantly faster, and leadership has a real-time overview of pipeline and performance across all companies — without Excel sheets and manual status meetings.

NORTH is acquired by Howden — and becomes Howden Denmark

In December 2023 — just months after RiseB2B's HubSpot implementation went live — the insurance group Howden announced the acquisition of NORTH. The deal marked Howden's entry into the Danish market and was the group's largest single acquisition in Continental Europe since Assiteca in Italy.

NORTH had at that point grown to 260 employees and Denmark's fourth largest insurance broker — built in just two years through organic growth and 24 acquisitions. The commercial foundation that RiseB2B helped build in HubSpot was a central part of the growth story that made NORTH attractive to Howden.

In October 2024, NORTH officially changed its name to Howden Denmark and is today an integrated part of Howden Group's activities in the Nordics — with HubSpot as the continued foundation for the commercial organisation.

About Howden: Howden is a leading insurance group with operations in over 50 countries and 15,000 employees. The group handles annual premium payments of USD 35 billion and has since its founding in 1994 been characterised by co-ownership, with employees making up the largest shareholder group.
